How to ask for your data to be deleted

Meta requires this page so that anybody whose data reached FlowChat has a clear way to ask for it to be removed. You do not need an account to use it, and you do not need to say why.

If you filled in a form

Your answers were collected by the business that sent you the form — a hotel, a clinic, a shop, whoever it was. That business controls your data and can delete it. FlowChat only provides the software.

The quickest route is to reply to the same WhatsApp conversation and ask them directly. If you would rather not, you can contact us and we will pass your request to them and confirm that we did.

If you have an account

If you signed in to FlowChat, your account and everything connected to it can be deleted. An owner of the business can delete the business from Settings → General, which removes its forms, customers, submissions and connected number.

If you cannot sign in, or you want us to do it for you, write to the contact address below from the email on the account.

What we need from you

• For a form answer: the WhatsApp number you used, the name of the business, and roughly when you replied. That is enough to find the record.
• For an account: the email address on the account.

We may ask you to confirm you control the number or address, so that nobody else can have your data deleted. We will not ask for anything more than that.

What happens next

• We acknowledge your request, normally within a few working days.
• We delete the records, or tell you why we cannot — usually because a business is required to keep a record for tax, accounting or legal reasons, and we will say how long that lasts.
• We confirm when it is done. Deletion is permanent: it cannot be undone, and a copy will not be kept for you to restore.

What is not deleted

Security logs and the audit trail may retain a record of the deletion itself, so that there is evidence the request was carried out. That record does not contain the data that was deleted.

Meta, and your Facebook account

Deleting your data from FlowChat does not affect your Facebook or WhatsApp account, which Meta controls. To remove FlowChat's access to your Facebook account, use Settings & privacy → Settings → Apps and websites in Facebook and remove the app from the list.
